Terms and conditions

I hope to make all transactions with my customers as fair, simple and straightforward as possible. I am required by law though to inform you of what your rights are when buying from me, so please read the information below so that you know where you stand. All transactions you make on this website, or by personal communication with me, are covered by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Problems

In the unlikely event that your purchase has a fault or is in some other way not suitable for purpose, please get in touch before returning the item so we can agree the most suitable course of action.

Please note that, while all electrical parts are fully tested for correct function before shipping, some items are sensitive to installation conditions. For example, pickups, capacitors and other electrical parts can be damaged by excessive heat when soldering to your instrument. If you are not experienced in soldering, please get someone suitably qualified to do the installation for you. Any damage to these parts or pre-existing parts in your instrument as a result of inappropriate installation are the responsibility of the installer.

Also instruments strings are considered to be a consumable item, and are likely to wear out long before your statutory rights expire. And please read the string installation instructions on the packet before beginning to fit them – not all strings are the same!

Other returns

You may return an unused item for a refund or exchange so long as you let me know that you intend to do so within 14 days of receiving it, and you get it back to me within another 14 days of telling me. However there are some conditions and exceptions to this.

  • You must return the item unused, in the same condition you received it and the original packaging.

  • Return postage is at the buyer's expense. I suggest for your own sake you use a more secure service such as Royal Mail Signed For, or Special Delivery for items that cost more than £50.

  • Although items under £42 in value are exempt from the 2013 Regulations, I will usually accept these items back as well, though I reserve the right to not refund the postage costs.

  • Custom-made items may not be returned unless damaged in transit, faulty, or otherwise not to agreed specifications. For practical purposes, custom-made means anything you buy from me that requires instructions from you beyond a request to simply buy something that you see listed on the website.
